Spurn Point at Humberside on the Holderness coast of East Yorkshire is a fantastic place. It's a real shame that the wildlife and plants inhabiting the peninsula are constantly under threat from the sea. A tidal surge a few years ago, resulted in the roadway having to be closed, meaning it now requires a three and a half mile walk to reach the lighthouse. This image of the old Spurn lighthouse was taken late spring, from a low viewpoint on the beach, and shows the view looking out over the Humber Estauary at sunset.
