Stoodley Pike overlooking the Calder Valley at sunrise after a good overnight flurry of snow. With a forecast for snow overnight, I headed out early to the Dales thinking it would be full of the stuff. It wasn't! The closer I got to the Dales, it was thinning, and reaching Skipton there was none. A quick diversion back in to West Yorkshire, and one hairy drive over the tops from Haworth to Hebden Bridge eventually proved to be a good decision, with Calderdale under a thick blanket of snow. I even managed to get there just before sunrise, even though the van was travelling sideways for most of the drive over the moors.
