Smearsett Scar in the Snow

Serpentine dry stone wall and Smearsett Scar, from Pot Scar near Settle. In January the sun rises to the right of the peak of Smearsett Scar, casting low angled light back onto the face of the cliff throughout the day. Beyond the scar are the villages of Langcliffe and Stainforth.
