This strangely shaped Gritstone rock is situated near to another craggy slab of Gritstone which gives some lovely views over the tops of the trees in the wooded valley of Hardcastle Crags, near Heptonstall. I had hoped for some decent light here, which would have brought out the vibrant autumn colours of the Birch trees in the valley, but instead, the valley was veiled in a thick blanket of fog. I still quite like the way the fog both subdues the colours, and softens the background.
