Yorkshire Dales waterfalls walk workshop

This workshop will take place amongst the spectacular scenery to be found along the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, starting in the town of Ingleton. Meeting in the waterfalls walk car park, we'll set off on our way following the path of the river Twiss as it cascades its way down the valley. There are numerous waterfalls, both small and large as we make our way up the valley towards Thornton Force waterfall, which marks the end of the first half of the walk. The Waterfalls Walk can be very popular, so this workshop takes place midweek so that we can avoid the crowds of the weekend. It is also timed to align with the peak of the Autumn colours, and there really is no better time to witness the beauty of this area. As well as the waterfalls themselves, which are pretty spectacular, we'll look to also photograph many of the smaller details along the banks of the river. After a packed lunch at Thornton Force, we'll set off on our way to complete the second half of the walk. We cross over into the next valley, and now we will be following the path of the river Does as it winds its way back down to Ingleton. Again there are spectacular waterfalls and cascades all the way down the valley, as well as lots of opportunities to photograph smaller details and abstract type images.

Whether you're a beginner looking to master the settings on your camera, and move into full manual mode, or a more advanced amateur looking for inspiration and ideas regarding composition, then this is the perfect day for you.

The walk itself is a total of around five miles so an average fitness is required. The terrain can be uneven in places, but paths are generally quite good. The walk will be broken up over the duration of the day, so the most we will likely walk at any one time will rarely be more than a mile. As we are spending the whole day in one location, you will need to bring a packed lunch and drinks etc.
